January 14, 2021 – We’re excited to announce that the executive director of NYC Medics, Katherine Bequary, will speak on the Refugee and Disaster Medicine Panel during the Wilderness Medical Society’s virtual 2021 Winter Conference on Saturday, February 20.
This special Refugee and Disaster Medicine Panel forms part of the Global Health Symposium that will take place during the Pre-Conference. Bequary will be speaking at 9am on the 20th together with Dr. Linda Keyes (a NYCM volunteer herself) and Dr. Michele Devlin.
The panel’s goal is:
- To educate on the unique aspects of refugee medicine
- To contrast relief trips and their purpose
- To inform about the logistic and medical complications of disaster response
